Hi!

I got a little idea to get a lil more american members in the us.

We maybe sould make a little meet here in Kaiserslautern one day and try to get more members from here.
Or maybe we should put some flyers on US BMW car´s to make some advertising for the syndikat.

What do you think???

Jogi you are right I dont think we should beg for members.....but....Bilal, Profiler, Angel wouldnt be there if I hadnt approached them. I didnt beg them, I invited them to check us out. Many people(especially us Americans) dont know about the clubs or how to get "in". Before I met Jogi I wanted to be in a club for months but never met any of the Germans that ran the clubs didnt know when shows were or anything. Posting a little flyer I dont think is begging but informing anyone who may look at it that there is an "international" BMW club of enthusiasts that exists in this area or whatever area you live in....Begging is when you ask more than once.....we dont do that.

How about a meeting downtown??
Like any place in the city, where people can see us and see, that there is a "Club" meeting.

I´m even shure, that some members of the bma allianz stop by! *gg*

Does anybody have an another idea about all that???

You mean downtown Ktown? There isnt any room down there oder? Downtown mannheim we could only really do a drive-by because finding parking for everyone would be a pain in the ass. So I dont think that would be a good idea.

There is a german/american car club in k-town. They meet every saturday at a parkingplace next to burger king close to Vogelweh (direktion ramstein).

And i saw them last week at the major house (rathaus) at the main busstop. Even the police was there, but it seemed like, that it was no problem staying there. But that was about 10pm.

Well, anyway, if somebody have an idea....post it here

Just doing a drive by in not a bad idea but we need to do that when the weather is real nice to get the right amount of people looking.

I think a group drive by from one end of Ktown to the other and then a BBQ somewhere would be a great idea.

I personally have a slightly different view that Reddevil...
I was in another club so I know it is easy to get in if you want to. All you have to do is step up to the plate.
If you want to be in you can get in. If you want to watch on the sidelines and do your own thing do that.
I have said this before most Ameriicans use language as a crutch to not being able to do anything. I dont think I am fluent in German, and neither is Profiler or GI angel. But we all try.
That is what makes the difference. Having people say they are in the Syndikat or having a sticker is cool but are they really.

And do we want people like that??

Look let me put this in black and white because you guys got me all wrong. The only reason I was not in a club before was "ignorance". I did not know who was in a club or anything. Originally I met Terry by accident. He told me about the BMW-Freunde RN. So I said I was down to at least see what they were about. I used to call and call to see when the meetings were and where. I kept getting....not blown off but I wasnt getting the info. I wanted. Then I met Jogi. He gave the info. I needed and was actually interested in giving the information. When I met Joe(profiler) the only reason he was NOT in a club was "ignorance". He didnt know anyone...I went to him and talked to him about it and just invited him and made sure he had the "info" he needed to make an informed decision. Thats all I am talking about. We inform and they can decide or not. If you feel we dont want just anyone putting a "sticker" on then we need to make the prerequisites for getting it different. For example you dont get one until after 20posts on the website......Just an example, I personally dont think we should do it.....I think the question should be do we want more members or not? Do we want more americans or not?

@reddevil: Dont take it the wrong way. i konw what you mean. But there are those who want to be in a club for the wrong reasons and by thier actions make us all look bad in everyones eyes.
If they show up at one meeting with a sticker then never show up again it looks bad. Or even worse they show up to the next show with another sticker.
If other people want to play the sticker game they can play it elsewhere.
But that is just my personal belief.

I am loving it here where I am.
One of the good things about us is there is no pressure to do anything and every oppurtunity is given to you. But what you do with those oppurtunities are your choice.

Changing it to you have to have 20 posts may be too much for some people.. plus thee are those who dont have time nor want to write... But they also dont complain when nothing happens to or for them...
