Can somebody tried to change the computer on the car from the small one to the big one ?

Do I need something esle beside the cable set ?

hmmm i am not to sure about the computer on the E36. Maybe there is some OBC software that needs to be upgraded on the OBC on your car before it will recognize the other computer? Anyone else know anything?

There was a camera back there? Oh shhhh...!

You can also reply in German , I think I can manage :)

there are extra cables that you will need before the computer is fully operational. if you take the wire harness from the other car where you got the computer from and hook it up to yours it should work.

It is not easy but it is effective.

with some luck the basic functions will work if the connection fits..

best would be to post this in the E36 sub-forum again.. there you'l get the answer from our "professionals" :)

Hello.

Your first problem is the energy supply.
Your small BC has power supply and ground pin in the black connector (already in your car!).
The big BC needs two of this 18pin female Connectors instead of one from the small one. And here is the power supply and ground in the other connector.
Second Problem is that Check-Control will not work until you retrofit your car cable harness.

Not to forget: You will have to recode your BC to your car. Only your local BMW Dealer can handle this.
Mail me, if you want specific details for installation of the big BC.

First , thank you alll.

BMW 325i-Fahrer : I bought the cables on the ebay , and I also bought the computer.
With the cables I got 8 pages with instructions about how to fit them in the car.

Now , about the coding of the BC to the car ... can't I use the Carsoft software to do this or I need something special ?
I am also going to order the interface and I am thinking if it is possible to vode the BC myself ???
Any special software I will need ???
