Thema: Track days
----------------------------------------------------------
Hi there, I'm thinking of slowly getting into track days, preferably starting off with a training session of sorts...and have really no idea where to begin.

When I used to live in NRW I was once invited by a friend to join his friends in the "Solingen Sports Car Club", who rented out part of the Nurburgring and basically it was "every man for himself", with everyone racing around chaotically and missing each other's fenders by centimeters at times- I was driving my boss's car so it was slightly stressful : ) but I remember being really jealous of a guy who had a cheap E30 which he was preparing to use for such events regularly.

Also what are the regulations in Germany regarding roll cages etc.?  I heard once that it is illegal to drive a car on the street with a roll cage, is that true? On one hand, if I start doing track days regularly I'd like to use a relatively cheap car (which I do already have) and add a roll cage for safety, but if it's not street legal and I'd have to trailer it around then the costs would be prohibitive....

Anyway, thanks for any advice you may have!

Cheers
