Autor: B3AM3R Datum: 13.07.2013 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- Why should anyone take a Chevy Engine and put it into a BMW? Swap BMW Engines is no hard thing, thats one more reason why nobody ever mindet that. ;) Even the M5 V10 Engine would be easier to swap into any 3Series than any Chevy Engine. BMW Engines are slightly better anyway. Have you already mendet it or are u just tryin to get informations? Bearbeitet von: B3AM3R am 13.07.2013 um 16:33:03 less traction - more action! Autor: foler Datum: 13.07.2013 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- First of all...No one bmw engine is cheaper and have that much power like LSX from GM...I am sick from BMW high-tech problematically parts like vanos, valvetronic, valve adjustment, very expensive parts, low torque and high gas consumption...I have m3 e36 and this is great machine but is very problematic...Install LSX engine is much more simpler that BMW engine because electronics and wiring is very simple and you can buy standalone systems for very cheap. I want to put in my car new LS3 drivetrain and need some street legal example from Germany. I can show this example on my technical inspection. Simply, I dont want to pay BMW silly money for "high-tech" sh**......GM pushrod V8 kill any bmw engine in relation to power, gas consumption and very cheap maintenance and this is proven around the wold. I like bmw as car, but engines is to much complicated, overpriced and underpowered. Here is one dyno comparison which I make for bimmerforums: |

Autor: foler Datum: 13.07.2013 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- Cars without tuv cant be driven in germany? |
Autor: B3AM3R Datum: 13.07.2013 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- No, TÜV means its road legal. Only if you pass that test every two years, youre able to drive it on the road without getting into serious trouble. I got your point putting a Chevy Engine in your BMW, but thats not realy possible in Germany. The costs of getting the TÜV Certifikation would be the same amount of money as building it. Taking any other BMW engine is the almost only way of getting it road legal without spending the money for a Porsche in Certifikation Papers. A relativly healthy way to get an huge amount of Power ist der V8 from the old M5. If thats not enough, you can charge it. Thats still easier than mount an LS3 in the E36. (im Germany) I know it sounds strange, but where the country of the thousand rules. :) less traction - more action! EAT/SLEEP/DRIFT |
Autor: foler Datum: 13.07.2013 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- Why is possible swap s62 v8 into e36 and not is possible chevy v8? Is it on market any tuv kit for s62 into e36? |
Autor: Steffen1212 Datum: 13.07.2013 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- I think i saw a BMW e36 with a 2JZ engine street legal. The german TÜV isn`t that hard, what most people are thinking, you just have to talk to the engineer when you start to building the car, then it would be possible to swap a chevy V8 in a BMW with TÜV. Autor: foler Datum: 13.07.2013 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- Zitat: Yes, same procedure is here in Croatia. Talk first with head institution CVH (http://www.cvh.hr/english/company-profile.aspx) about project, make some installation manual and after permission project can start with supervisor. For parts which have tuv cert like big brake kits or suspension I dont need to ask anything. "Problem" is custom made parts like engine and tranny mounts and exhaust. This is only parts which I need to make. All other parts is OE GM. |
Autor: cxm Datum: 13.07.2013 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- Zitat: Hi, possible - maybe, but it is stupid. No one would prefer a Chevy V8 instead of a M60. The price differences between M60 and Chevy V8 are peanuts regarding the rest of the conversions costs. And for the M60 engines there is no kit availiable. All of them are individual conversions or made by professional tuning companies. The challenge is not the mechanic conversion - not for expierenced guys. The challenge is to get a TÜV certificate for legal use. Regards - Carsten Schöne Autos fangen mit "B" an - BMW und Borsche... |
