I am from the UK and am having trouble with some parts, thought I would expand my search :) I have a 2002 530d with Full Sport Pack, this also includes M Technic Suspension components. My local BMW dealer say that the suspension was Changed from M Tecnic 1 to M Technic 2 in 2000. Boge/Sachs who are the manufacturer of the dampers say they have only made M Tecnic 1 suspension. Is it a different manufacturer for M Tecnic 2 or did they just change the name, but the parts were actually identical, has anyone replaced these components before and what did you use? I can buy the parts from Sachs alot cheaper than my local BMW dealer, hence the queries. I have traslated to german below :) Hallo alle. Ich komme aus dem Vereinigten Königreich und habe Probleme mit einigen Teilen, dachte, ich würde meine Suche erweitern:) Ich habe eine 2002 530d mit Full Sport Pack, dies schließt auch M Technic Fahrwerk-Komponenten. They called: SACHS Advantage the Originalpartnumber by Sachs is: 556 834 (front suspension) 170 857 (back? or tail? suspension) Hope i can help you! Greetings from Germany- Hessen . |

This confirms my suspicion that they are the same, Do you know why Sachs don't call them M-Technik II or recognise the BMW part number? The partnumber is 31312229613 from BMW, but Sachs in the UK say this item is not made by them! |
