I will be moving from Florida to Germany for a two year job. I would like to bring me 1995 E36 M3 with me. It has a custom turbo system and exhaust. It makes 400 horsepower and is very fast.
I can drive the car in Germany for six months using my Florida plates and registration. Some people have told me I could probably drive for a year without legal problems.
My car is really nice and I do not want to leave it home. Do you think I should bring it and just drive it with the USA plates, or try to get it approved for German registration?
Sorry about the English, I do not have any German, yet!
For the first 6 month u shouldn't have any problem, because of the US Registration.
But I think it would be a problem to registrate ur car for germany, cause i think that ur turbo system isn't TÜV approved and so ur car won't get a licence.
maybe u can get a Nato-Plate for ur car like the GI's in germany have it. With this Plate u don't need a TÜV-Approval, cause ur car is still registrated in the USA.
so long, greets from Germany
