Beitrag von: M_Parallel Date: 24.02.2008 Thema: e36 cabrio Harman/Kardon system. (Hi-Fi switch) ---------------------------------------------------------- Hello German BMW fans. I'm trying to (partially) re-fit the Harman/Kardon audiosystem for my e36 cabriolet. My car originally had the 10-speaker system, but once in its lifetime, the interior was swapped for an all black interior, which had only 1 speaker per door and in the back, so right now I have only 6 speakers. I still have the extra speaker plugs inside the doors, but I can't find the extra plugs in the rear. I managed to find an original H/K amplifier and ski-pass subwoofer. I wonder what it takes to get these to work. I think I'm going to order the original wiring loom for the H/K setup from BMW. Now I know the H/K system also has a Hi-Fi switch. I already ordered it from BMW, but I wonder if there is a special wiring loom needed for it, or if it is part of the "main" H/K. loom. Or maybe the Hi-Fi switch only came on coupes/sedans and not on cabrio's? In which case I would need to order the coupe/sedan part number. If anyone has any tips or know how it works, please help me out. Thanks. Folkert - OEM+ Erfinder |

In front (both sides)are 2 speaker per door (high an middle) and under the Instrument table 1 bass speaker, rear the same configuration but 1 Subwoofer in the middle, in the (the german word is) "Skisack" . My amplifier is also behind the backseat. But what you mean with Hi-Fi switch. Take a look at this site. This is my original hi-fi audio wiring. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BH31&mospid=47416&btnr=65_0454&hg=65&fg=20 sorry for my english. greetings |
Autor: M_Parallel Datum: 26.02.2008 Antwort: ---------------------------------------------------------- Hey Hostue, Your english is just fine. The Hi-Fi switch isn't shown on the cabriolet diagrams, but is shown on coupe/sedan diagrams (under various switches). This is what it looks like: On your amp is an extra connection where you can wire in this switch, which will give you a more "spacier" soundstage. All it does is apply +12v to one of the pins on the amp, so 1 wire would be enough, but I want original parts. So I wondered if someone knew. By the sounds of it, you don't have it, which would mean there is a special loom (kabelbaum) for the Hi-Fi switch or maybe it is integrated in the loom for coupe/sedan. I'll have to check the ETK if the part numbers are different. I have sourced the cabrio subwoofer for the skisack (we call it skizak (I'm from Der Niederland, aber ich sprechen kein Deutsch <- that's the only thing I can say:)) How do you rate the subwoofer? I know it won't give BOOM BASS, but that's not what I want either. Just a little nice bass. - OEM+ Erfinder |
