Die Versorgungsspannung bei VAG und BMW ist genormt und somit gleich. VAG nutzt Pin 7 und 15 als Diagnoseleitung. BMW jedoch Pin 7 und 8. Somit muß lediglich Pin 7 mit Pin 8 verbunden werde. DAS WAR'S

Und dann kann man INPA im E90 in vollem Umfang nutzen?
Es gibt ja auch eine Variante mit USB, soll ich gleich die nehmen oder doch mit serieller Schnittstelle?
EDIT: Seriell wär' besser, weil dann könnt' ich mir noch einen zusätzlichen Adapter bauen, sodass ich die zwei Pins über diesen Adapter verbinde und das Interface damit sowohl für VAG als auch BMW verwenden könnte, stimmt's?

I just installed INPA 4.4.7 into my laptop. It's contains com port too so I could connect the cable direct to the car BMW E38. But I don't have communication. It could be because of Windows XP? Or do you know any additional settings what I have to modify on my PC? Do you know what is TxFifo? Regards

Zu INPA: Wenn die INPA-Version den E90 unterstützt....kein Problem!
zur Technik: 7 und 8 muß nur gebrückt werden. Pin 8 wird von VAG nicht benutzt, deshalb kann es für VAG und BMW benutzt werden. Ein Problem kann es allerdings mit der Dämpfung geben, da das originale Interface beim E90 auf einen Abschlußwiderstand von 1kOhm umschaltet (standard 510 Ohm)! Für den Fall das man beides nutzen möchte müßte man einen Umschalter einbauen den man je nach Bedarf von 510 Ohm auf 1 kOhm umschalten kann.

Hi Csaba...
INPA is running on XP without problems! Normaly you needn't special settings. Maybe you use the wrong interface. Do you use OBD or ADS Interface? If you use the right one, I think it's a hardware problem!

Thank you for your answer. So the cable must be ok because with this cable we tried from one other PC this program and it was running. For the com port settings what is the ideal speed what it's recommended to set? I received one description for and I have done all settings so I haven't got a clue what could be wrong. Are you using also this program under XP?

I would suggest that you set all the options on your PC exactly to the same as it was on the other PC where it worked... do you run the same operating-system on both PCs?
No on the other PC was Windows 98 SE.

I have tested INPA once on my PC with Win_2k and did not manage to get a connection either. In office we use it also with Win_2k and it works fine without any troubles. That time I did not have the time to look out for any wrong settings, but I have already decided to try once again.

...XP isn't the problem, maybe you can install PORTMON and log the communication over the comport. You can also see the baudrate switch. It should be 9600 baud.

All settings are stored in *.ini INPA od EDIABAS.ini! Normaly it's com1!

So the error massage is IFH-0018 Initialisierungfheler des Interface -Handlers.
Have you seen this before? Also its doesn't matter I connect the cable or not always this massage is appear.

Good news it's working. This FAQ file really useful. The problem was one program already used the com1 port. I disable the port reboot the PC and I find out wish program used the port. I enabled again the port and EDIABAS started to run perfect. Thank you for your kind help!

Habe mir grad nochmal die Screens von INPA angeschuat und sehe dort viele Modelle aufgelistet nur leider nicht den E36!
